Possilpark Community Council will be at Saracen Cross on Saturday 25th July, having a chat with local people about their views and aspirations for the community. Pop down to say hello.

Here is the Local Place Plan for Possilpark that was produced by Possilpark Community Council. The Co-op is proud and delighted to have supported the Community Council to produce the document which summarises the community’s desires and aspirations for Possilpark.

It has been validated by Glasgow City Council and will inform the Council’s 10-year City Development Plan.

𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐇𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐚𝐭 𝐀𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐭, 𝐃𝐞𝐧𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐒𝐭

We believe there has been some confusion online, between the vacant care home in our community and a similar vacant site in the East End.

The Council have advised that they have received a Planning Application for Allander Court, Denmark St and that the proposal does not contain a change of use. The application will be placed on the Planning Portal, letters will be sent to neighbours and people will be given an opportunity to comment on the application.

The owner has also confirmed that his intention is to use it as a care home for older people.

The Co-op will look at the application to ensure that the proposed use does not cause us concerns but it would be good to see this eyesore return to its previous use and resolves some of the problems that have arisen since it was vacant.
